One of the biggest potential moves happening at the moment is Grace Helbig's move into the world of late night television. E! network, best known for it’s hit Keeping Up with the Kardashians and it’s long string of flop reality shows involving slightly famous personalities, has offered Helbig a place in their late night slot following the departure of our dear Chelsea Handler’s pop culture talk show Chelsea Lately. This is a move that could make or break Helbig. We all know she has the comedic skills to carry out a show of her own considering her regular YouTube material airs 5 days a week, but our concern is the television network. We’ve all heard horror stories about networks watering down comedians in order to deliver non-offensive material.Apart from her successful movie Camp Takota, web series #HeyUSA, guest appearance on @midnight on Comedy Central, and her 1.8 million YouTube subscribers, this is a new platform and experience for Grace. We’ll have to see how Grace makes this journey. We wish her the best of luck and we hope television doesn’t ruin her. Do your thing Helbig.
In related news, Shane Dawson’s movie release is approaching which is exciting and potentially terrifying. Shane is a great comedian and skit writer, however his movie making skills were never really explored, so we’ll have to see how this piece comes together. It could go either way, Shane feels pressured to fit every joke he can into a few hours and the audience feels suffocated with dick jokes, or it could be a fun, comedic film with a heartfelt message. We would also like to wish Shane luck with the rest of his career. Many dick jokes to come.
