But the main attraction is the Saturday meet and greets, people meeting their idols and inspirations, except this year there was a twist in how it'd all play out, for such YouTubers as Dan and Phil (danisnotonfire and AmazingPhil) a maximum of 300 tickets were given out a 30 minutes before the meet up was set to begin... but this didn't happen, as all tickets were given out as soon as people started entering the venue a whole hour and a half before the meet up, so many people were annoyed and devastated as they didn't get any chance of even being able to meet the people who brought them to buy tickets to this event. So their plan for organization turns into a complete shambles just as all the years before, it's kind of tradition in a way. Later on in the evening a series of live stage events such as Dan and Phil also joined by PJ (KickThePJ) which was streamed live happened along with a LGBT panel, and a live Q&A with Ben Cook and Tyler Oakley to which he admitted he ships Phan and he enjoys "the thought of tall men enjoying each other"
The Sunday however seemed to run more smoothly but with still many mishaps happening, and with less of a buzz, one of the main attractions of the day is Emma Blackery, well known for her loud mouth and opinions, shaving off all of her hair and Charlie McDonnell, a dinosaur of YouTube, who inspired a vast majority of the people you watch today, showing off this new short film Strangers In A Bed, which has public release tomorrow, and more meet and greets for YouTubers with smaller audiences.
This year’s Summer In The City has gone moderately better than those previous but there is still room for change and improvement to make this event as well known as other YouTube creator events that take place throughout the year.
